What Have I Been Doing Since April 30th?

I can't really remember. I know it included some pain, two nights in the hospital, some horrendous (and—I think—unnecessary) drugs which had me drooping all over the floor.

I know I have missed a wedding weekend in Chicago which we were both looking forward to. And then when we realized that if we could not leave Detroit, we could cross town for our Grandson's Confirmation. But we couldn't—sorry Ben. But it was a wise decision and now there are other decisions to make.

Andrew made the long journey from DC, leaving Marcie with a car which broke down and which they have now decided to replace. I have been the recipient of love and kindness and of some delicious meals. I really can't remember what else happened, but it is TMI anyway.

See you soon.

Oh Beryl, I'm so sorry. Was it an accident or illness? I do hope you're making a complete recovery xx

Z, I am so happy you actually read my blog. I also have a friend in England who reads it and understands what it is for.
If it did not sound so melodramatic I would say I will never recover. I have had a condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia (look that one up!)for about 6-8 years. I kept it under control with medication, but that loses its efficacy and the side effects are unpleasant. In the last three or four months the pain has broken through the medication (not consistently but when it feels like it.) I have an appointment with a neurosurgeon on Tuesday to see if surgery would help me, tho' I know it may not last for long. The fear of the pain and the side effects are in great part why I decided your blog party was a non starter.
I will keep in touch and thanks for caring.

I didn't know of that form of neuralgia, how dreadful. It looks as if the operation is not to be undertaken lightly - I do hope your consultant can help.

I've read your blog for a long time - though I've been so busy the last couple of years that I've not kept up very well with friends' blogs, I'm starting to get back into it now. Some of my dearest friends are those I've met through blogging - I haven't met them all in person but quite a number of them.
